Math, Hell’s Kitchen, and Skype
It’s Friday, almost all of the other BSU students are in Ireland (just my travel group is here) and I slept til about 1. It was nice to catch up on sleep though. I definitely needed it. I got ready for the day and fixed my hair in my new sock bun (i’m trying to be British) and Kasey and I went to get some lunch. After we ate with Lacey and Jessie (right before they left for Scotland) and Lee we came back to do some lesson planning. We got our Math lesson on American money done and were definitely happy about that. We then got ready for dinner.
We had gotten an e-mail earlier from Dr. Popplewell saying that from now on we would be having dinner in the Arbour Room instead of in the cafeteria type place we usually ate at. It mentioned this was due to the fact that several other conference dinners were being held in the Arbour Room as well and it’s just easier for them to cook once and in one place. So last night was the first night in the new place. It was just the six members of my travel group. We all walked over together and when we got there we felt completely out of place. The ladies told us we had a table over in the corner. It was a large half moon shaped booth that was reserved just for the BSU students. We sat down and realized that this was going to be a fancier dinner than we were used to. We each had a real glass (not plastic), a bread plate, and about 6 pieces of silverware. We also go served at the table instead of getting up and getting our own food. We first got served some vegetable soup which I was not pleased with. Instead of the vegetable soup I was used to it looked like they had just pureed everything together and that was not okay with me. We then got served lamb stew which was pretty good but we also had green beans, cauliflower, and potatoes that were just piled together on top of the stew and flavorless. Then, of course, we were served chocolate cake yet again. Don’t get me wrong, I love chocolate cake. But not EVERY DAY! It gets old and you start to enjoy it less and less. :(
After dinner I started watching Hell’s Kitchen on my laptop and I ended up getting to Skype Bethy and Cory last night for a while. It was a pretty relaxing day. Hopefully tomorrow will be the same (with the exception of possibly going to camel club again).
Ta and Cheers!
